Heated Stone Massage.  According to evidence in the archaeological record, massage with heated stones is a unique and ancient form of bodywork.  In our own time, heated basalt stones and warm oil are applied to the body to promote relaxation and release tension and stress.  It is believed the heat from the stones expands blood vessels, allowing nutrients and oxygen to enter the cells, and assisting the release and elimination of toxins. Heated Stone Massage is a grounding experience that opens the muscles to deeper levels of massage, offers relief from pain, and fosters a peaceful feeling of relaxation.

Perinatal (Pregnancy) Massage.   Massage during the second and third trimester of pregnancy can be a safe, effective way to relieve the common discomforts that accompany the childbearing cycle - by easing tension, relaxing tight muscles, improving circulation, and reducing physical and emotional stress.  Massage helps renew energy.  And, in releasing chronic tension from muscles of the lower back and abdomen, massage can be an important part of preparing a woman's body for the birth of her child.

Scar Tissue Release Therapy.   Often thought of as being only “skin deep,” scar tissue may actually spread in any direction, including internally. As such, it can restrict movement or function anywhere in the body, including joints and organs. Scar Tissue Therapy at Kailo Center is based on the methodology taught in the Marjorie Brook Seminars, and presents a systematic, three-dimensional approach to releasing and realigning fascia. A form of myofascial release, Scar Tissue Therapy can potentially reduce the size and appearance of scars on the surface of the body, along with easing the underlying adhesions that may be creating discomfort and restricting movement and flexibility. This therapy may thus be of significant benefit to those carrying scar tissue resulting from cosmetic procedures, medically-necessary operations, or reconstructive surgery.
