A variety of massage services and techniques are available to clients at Kailo Center.  Although each technique has unique aspects, most are not mutually exclusive.  A typical massage session will often combine many elements of the bodywork forms noted below.

Classic Western Massage.  Often referred to as Swedish - or Relaxation - Massage, this is perhaps the best-known and most widely practiced form of massage.  The long, slow, and gentle strokes of Swedish Massage are designed to calm and soothe the body, and promote a profound sense of relaxation.  An effective way to de-stress and unwind, this full-body massage also aids circulation and detoxification, improves range of motion, and can be a helpful adjunct to healing after exercise, injury, or exertion.

Deep Tissue Massage.  A focused form of bodywork, Deep Tissue Massage is usually performed in a more slow and limited fashion than Swedish Massage.  The goal is to access deeper layers of musculature and connective tissue in specific areas of the body, rather than perform a general, full-body massage.  Clients often request Deep Tissue Massage if they're seeking relief from persistent discomfort or a recurring condition, and wish to have their massage session primarily directed toward addressing these concerns.

Myofascial Release.  A form of massage designed to release tension from the fibrous bands of connecting tissue (fascia) that surround all of the organs, bones, and muscles of the body.  Fascia is often referred to as an "endless web," and this therapy is directed toward freeing restrictions in this web, and releasing tension on joints, muscles, and body structures.  Myofascial Release utilizes a gentle stretching and kneading manipulation that softens, lengthens and re-aligns fascia and promotes significant relaxation.  Because this release of tension often relieves pressure on nerves, pain relief and postural improvement may also be realized, and a sense of comfort and balance restored.  Myofascial Release techniques are incorporated - when indicated - into most bodywork sessions at Kailo Center.
